Reverend Henry A. Gaston, President
Baptist Educational Congress of the District of Columbia and Vicinity
Greetings and welcome from the Baptist Educational Congress of the District of Columbia
and Vicinity. We are honored to have you visit our website and we hope
that you will have an enjoyable experience getting to know us and the
effectiveness of our organization.
The Baptist Educational Congress is an auxiliary of the Baptist Convention of the District of Columbia and Vicinity. It
was designed to empower believers with the doctrines and principles of
the Baptist faith, and to support and promote wholeness among all
Baptist followers. Uniting more than 60 churches in the Washington
metropolitan area, the Baptist Educational Congress has widened its
resource base, expanded its circle of communication, and provided
support to leaders from cooperating churches.
Although
designed to empower Baptist believers, our organization also serves as
a conduit for those not familiar with the Baptist faith. Educating believers as well as non-believers remains in harmony with our mission to win souls for Christ.
Forums, seminars, and spiritual meetings represent only a few of the methods to be employed by the Baptist Educational Congress. Here,
on our website, you also will have the opportunity to obtain some of
the valuable tools needed for empowerment. This site will also inform
you of classes, schedule, location and online registration.
If
your church is of the Baptist faith and wishes to become a member of
the Baptist Convention and the Baptist Educational Congress of the District of Columbia and Vicinity, please contact us for more information.
The
Congress will convene Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9, 2008, at
Charles Herbert Flowers High School, in Springdale, Maryland. We
are excited about our new site. Other exciting changes await you
at this year's Congress. I look forward to seeing you there!
